How do you measure the carbon footprint of a company?

The carbon footprint includes all emissions that have a heating factor on the planet. It is measured in a unit called carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e), which takes into consideration that different greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, methane etc.) have different global warming factors.

For example, 1 kg of Methane (CO4) has a global warming factor that is 28 times higher than CO2, during a 100-year period. Hence, an emission of 1 kg Methane is calculated as 28 kg CO2e.
